Bagging Tips

SOME HELPFUL TIPS IF YOU’RE A FIRST TIME BAGGER

“IMPORTANT: Please make sure that lights are removed from the bag in the same direction that they are inserted. Removing lights in the opposite direction may result in snagging or tearing of the bags. A good way to remember the direction of the bags is to start with the pronged plug (male) end of the light string. When removing the lights secure the plug end and remove the bag to maintain the same directional flow.”

Also, please make sure you put your lights away dry, bagging the lights when wet could result in damage to your lights as the lights will not dry easily when bagged.

For icicle light sets: use one set per bag.
For Single strand 100 count light sets: (typically 25-30 feet) Folded in half- two or three light sets per bag.

For Single strand light sets: (up to 50 feet) Folded in half then folded in half again- one light set per bag.

C9 light sets: Fold to achieve about 15 feet and stagger the bulbs. One light set per bag.

C7 and C5 light sets: (Varied light lengths) fold to about 15 feet and stagger the bulbs- one or two per bag.

For Longer Strands: Some icicle lights will measure longer than 15 feet. Each roll of extra bagging is 30 feet long with a perforation at the 15 foot mark. If this is the case, don’t break the perforation and simply measure the length of bag you need – trim the excess – load your icicle lights without folding. In many cases you should be able to load the entire 30 feet of bagging onto the cartridge. If this becomes too difficult, trim as above for the length needed and load only the amount for the strand being bagged. Note: Trimming is not recommended for 15 foot sections of the bag.

Experiment with your light sets and see what works best for you!
